Everything people ask about Obali POS and Obali TableKare, in one place. Search, or filter by product.
Reliability and offline
Obali POSNothing, from your team's point of view. Cash and manual mobile money sales keep working with no network. Each sale is queued on the device and replays automatically when the connection returns, and a sale sent twice counts once, never a double charge.
Through a full day. The catalog is cached on the device, sales queue locally as they happen, and everything syncs once the connection is back.
Card capture, creating brand-new products, and processing returns need connectivity, deliberately. Everyday selling does not.
Every sale is written to the device the moment it is rung up, not when it syncs. If a tablet dies, charge it or move to another logged-in device and continue. Nothing that was rung up is lost.
Payments
Obali POSCash, MTN MoMo, Telecel Cash, AirtelTigo Money and card. Mobile money and card run through Paystack and are verified on our servers before the receipt prints.
Yes. Manual mobile money sales are recorded against the sale so your end-of-day totals reconcile, even when the money moved outside Obali.
Hardware and setup
Obali POSAny phone, tablet or till PC with a browser. Thermal receipt printing and USB barcode scanning work straight from the browser, with no native app to install and no proprietary terminals.
Most single-location shops are selling the same afternoon. Import your product list or scan barcodes as you go, and the catalog builds itself.
Inventory and locations
Obali POSEvery sale moves stock automatically. Batches, expiry dates, wholesale pricing and manual adjustments are all tracked, and low-stock alerts tell you before you run out.
Yes. Stock is tracked per location, staff have per-location access, and reporting rolls everything up into one owner view.
Money and reporting
Obali POSOpen the drawer at the start of a shift, close and reconcile it at the end. Gaps are flagged, so end-of-day cash finally adds up.
Yes. Every shop's data is isolated at the database level, your numbers are never shared, and your data is always exportable.
Reliability and offline
TableKareThe till, kitchen display and payments keep working on the local device. Orders queue up and sync automatically when the connection returns.
The till and kitchen display keep working offline. The QR menu runs on the guest's own phone and data connection, so if a guest has no signal, staff take the order at the till as usual and it lands in the same queue.
GRA and taxes
TableKareIt is built for GRA E-VAT requirements: every receipt is itemized with 15% VAT, 2.5% NHIL and 2.5% GETFund calculated and shown correctly, with a clearance reference on the slip.
No, and we keep that claim honest: Obali TableKare is built for the GRA E-VAT requirements, but it is not certified or endorsed by the Ghana Revenue Authority.
QR ordering
TableKareNo app, no account, no card details. Guests scan the table code, order from the browser on their phone, and pay the waiter at the end as usual.
No. QR orders land in exactly the same system as the till: one queue, one kitchen display, one bill per table.
No. Nothing is charged online. Guests pay in person at the end, by whatever means your restaurant already accepts.
Kitchen and stock
TableKareA ticket per table the moment the order is fired: items, quantities, modifiers, allergy notes, a prep timer, and alerts when a ticket is overdue or an item was ordered while 86'd.
You track ingredients as you sell. When something runs out, the dishes that depend on it are marked unavailable automatically, on the till and on the QR menu, so guests stop ordering what the kitchen cannot make.
Hardware and reporting
TableKareOrdinary Android tablets or phones you may already own, plus a standard thermal receipt printer. No proprietary terminals, no imported point-of-sale hardware.
The day's sales, order count, average bill, cash reconciliation per drawer, and a needs-attention panel that flags low stock, cash gaps and operator alerts.
Yes. Several locations run under one account, with each branch's numbers kept separate and rolled up into one owner view.
